- Overview and Operational Scope
CB Plant & Sales Ltd provides heavy construction plant and equipment hire services for commercial contractors, developers, and corporate clients undertaking civil engineering and building projects across Northern Ireland and designated supported locations within the United Kingdom. All transactions and rentals are conducted in accordance with our formal terms and conditions.
- Step-by-Step Hire Workflow and Timeframes
Step 1: Equipment Inquiry and Quotation Request
Clients submit an online inquiry via our website quotation form detailing their project requirements, equipment specifications, site location, and anticipated hire duration. Inquiries are generally reviewed and addressed within 1 business day.
Step 2: Quotation Consultation and Formal Agreement
Following evaluation of project details, CB Plant & Sales Ltd issues a formal quotation outlining operational rates, transport logistics, and contractual terms. Upon client approval, a formal hire agreement is established.
Step 3: Booking Timeframe, Deposit, and Reservation Confirmation
Booking Timeframe: Equipment reservations and booking deposit payments must be completed at least 7 days prior to the scheduled commencement date of the hire period to ensure availability and logistics coordination.
Payment: To secure the equipment, the client pays the required booking deposit or initial scheduled instalment online through our secure platform. Equipment reservation is confirmed only upon receipt of cleared funds and a signed hire contract.
Step 4: Transport, Delivery, and Service Duration Structure
Service Period (Hire Duration): Standard plant hire contracts are structured for agreed operational periods, ranging from a minimum short-term hire duration (e.g., 1 week) to long-term commercial project durations as specified in the formal hire agreement.
Transport and Delivery Timeframe: Equipment delivery to the designated project site is scheduled and executed within 1 to 2 business days prior to the commencement date, or precisely on the morning of the scheduled start date as agreed in writing.
Balance Settlement: Any remaining balance, transport fees, or mobilization charges must be settled prior to dispatch.
Step 5: Cancellation Timeframes and Policy
Should a client need to cancel a confirmed booking, formal written notice must be submitted via email to hire@cbplanthire.com within the following timeframes:
14 Days or More Prior to Commencement: Full refund of the booking deposit, subject to administrative deductions.
7 to 13 Days Prior to Commencement: 50% of the booking deposit is retained to cover scheduling and holding losses.
Fewer than 7 Days Prior to Commencement: The booking deposit is strictly non-refundable. Transport and logistics mobilization costs incurred are non-refundable.
Step 6: On-Site Operation, Collection, and Contract Extension
On-Site Operation: During the operational hire period, the client is entirely responsible for ensuring that the plant machinery is operated by competent, qualified personnel in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
Collection Timeframe: Equipment collection from the project site is scheduled and carried out within 1 to 2 business days following the official expiration of the hire period.
Contract Extension: Should an extension of the hire period be required, formal written notice must be submitted at least 48 hours prior to the expiration of the current hire period, subject to equipment availability and advance fee settlement.
